No. 19 UWF remains unbeaten in GSC play with 3-0 win over UAH

West Florida sweeps Alabama Huntsville on the road Friday night en route to its 12th straight win

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The No. 19-ranked University of West Florida volleyball team swept Alabama Huntsville 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-18) on the road Friday night. West Florida (16-2, 9-0 GSC) wins its 12th straight match and has only dropped two sets during its current winning streak. UWF has now won 20 consecutive matches against UAH dating back to October 25, 2003.

"Alabama Huntsville is a great team, they have a lot of weapons on offense and are very good defensively," head coach Melissa Wolter said. "They caused us some trouble out of the gate but I was pleased that our players kept their composure. Overall it wasn't our best performance but I thought we played well at points in the match when we needed to."

West Florida will next face North Alabama on the road tomorrow at 2 p.m. in a battle of the top two teams in the GSC volleyball standings. UWF is currently a half a game ahead of UNA in the conference standings after North Alabama swept Valdosta State at home on Friday night.
