FLORENCE, Ala. – The West Florida women's basketball team had all five starters score in double figures as the Argonauts established season-highs for points and shooting in a 86-61 win at North Alabama in Flowers hall Thursday night.

Katie Bobos and Kelly Preston led the Argos offensively, with each scoring 17 points on the night. The pair combined for 34 points on 14-17 shooting with 17 rebounds against the Lions, and Toni Brewer, Alex Coyne and Belle Bistrow each scored in the double digits as well.

Brewer picked up the lone double-double of the game, adding 10 boards to her 12 points. With the performance, she ties Bobos with a team-best four double-doubles on the year.

West Florida dominated the glass, holding UNA to just 21 rebounds and grabbing 41 of their own. The game tied the second-largest rebound margin of the year for UWF, falling just short of its home game against North Alabama in December when the team outrebounded UNA by 25. The Argonauts are 8-3 on the year when outrebounding their opponents.

UWF shot a season-best 60 percent (33-55) from the floor, besting their 50 percent mark against Shorter in mid-December. The Argos made more than half their tries from beyond the arc for the first time this season, totaling 6 3s in 11 attempts

UWF was 10-of-13 in the first quarter and got the offensive rebound on two of their three misses for the putback to claim a 24-15 lead. The Argos used an 8-0 run late in the period after the Lions cut the margin to 14-11 with 3:48 left.

The second frame was more of the same for UWF. Again reaching 20 points in the quarter. UNA was more consistent from outside, but UWF responded with a score on each of the Lions three made 3-pointers,

Midway through the third quarter, UNA got the UWF lead down to four, 44-40. The Argos then took control and put the game away, outscoring the home team 42-21 the rest of the way.

UWF will return to action on Saturday when it travels to Alabama Huntsville for a nationally televised contest on the American Sports Network, beginning at 1 p.m. The game will be televised locally in the Pensacola/Mobile area on WFGX Channel 35 and online at NCAA.com.
