Cleveland, Tenn. – The University of West Florida volleyball team suffered a five-set (25-18, 16-25, 25-13, 16-25, 11-15) loss against Lee on Saturday afternoon. It is the first time the Argos have suffered back-to-back losses in GSC competition since 2014, and the first time since 2013 UWF has dropped a decision to the Flames.

Tori Martella set the program's career digs record, setter
Monique StCyr set a career record of her own by surpassing Madeline Gonzalez's (2007-2008) 2,926 assists for the program's all-time record. StCyr's 1,179 assists in 2015 were the fourth most in a single season by a UWF player, and her 976 this season is already the sixth most in a single season at UWF. StCyr set the all-time mark on her 16th assist against the Flames today.
UWF established dominance in the first set, holding a lead as large as 10 in the first frame at 22-12. West Florida hit .270 in the set, while holding Lee to 10 kills and 10 errors for a .000 attack percentage.
Lee responded with a 25-16 second set win, which held the Argonauts to just a -.026 success rate on its 39 swings. The Flames jumped out to a 12-1 advantage to start the set.
West Florida immediately reciprocated in the third set, as UWF leaped to an 8-0 lead to begin the set. After that, the Argos never led by any less than seven for the remainder of the set and went on to win the third set, 25-13, behind limiting the Flames to a -.057 attack percentage.
The Flames offense took over at the start of the fourth set, as Lee posted a .339 hitting percentage in the final two sets while only committing four errors. Lee took the final two sets by scores of 25-16 and 15-11, respectively.
On her record-setting day, StCyr contributed a match-high 36 assists.
Tori Martella posted 24 digs to lead UWF players, while
Katy Kuhlmeier posted a very impressive game offensively with eight kills and a .615 hitting percentage.
Rachel Neblett led the Argos with 10 kills, while posting a new career-high with nine blocks.
UWF returns home on Tuesday when it hosts Valdosta State for its annual "Black Out" game at 6:00 p.m.
