PACK IT PINK:Â This year marks the 10
th annual "Pack it Pink" event. The event has grown largely over the years, and there have been years the team has generated north of $10,000 going towards breast cancer-focused organizations. Over the past decade, the team has collected more than $50,000 to do its part in the fight against a disease has nearly 250,000 new cases per year in the United States.

In lieu of tickets, the UWF athletic department will be accepting donations going towards the Pensacola Breast Cancer Association. There will also be a silent auction with various items and opportunities that can be bid on prior to the start of the 3:00 p.m. Saturday match against North Alabama.

STREAK SNAPPED: After a perfect 7-0 record to start conference play, UWF saw a 15-match win streak in GSC play come to a close after a 3-1 setback against Union… It was the first regular season conference loss for UWF since Oct. 20, 2015, good for a streak that lasted 347 days.

HIGH-PROFILE MATCHUP VS. UNA:  For the UWF returners, the wound is likely fresh in their mind after North Alabama topped UWF 3-2 at the UWF Field House in last year's GSC Tournament Championship… The Lions currently stand at No. 21 in the nation.Â

GSC IN 2016: With a 7-1 record in GSC play thus far, UWF has numerous standouts in the early goings of conference action in 2016… West Florida is dominating its conference counterparts, as the team owns a .271 hitting percentage while limiting its opponents to a .119 success rate… UWF also leads the conference in assists per set (15.04), kills per set (16.08) blocks per set (2.72), service aces per set (1.88) and digs per set (19.92)…
Rachel Neblett is leading the conference with an astounding .433 hitting percentage against GSC opponents…
Kathryn Torre sits right Neblett at No. 3 in the conference with a .369 attack percentage…Smith is seventh in the conference with 3.07 kills per set in GSC action…
Monique StCyr is second amongst all GSC players with 10.37 assists per set in conference play…
Tori Martella is third in the conference with 4.67 digs per set against GSC opponents… Neblett also leads the conference with 1.21 blocks per set against GSC competition.Â

SCOUTING UNA: North Alabama stands with a record of 15-1 and a GSC record of 7-1… The Lions currently have a six-match win streak… Natasha Formina is currently leading the team with an average of 3.95 kills per set and Jayden Davilamcclary with 10.96 assists per set. The Argos lead the all-time series, 22-14 over UNA… It's the first time the two squads have played since UNA topped UWF, 3-2, in the 2015 Gulf South Conference Championship.

SCOUTING UAH: The Chargers are off to a 12-3 record along with a 6-2 GSC record... Anna Claire Johnson is leading the Chargers in kills per set with an average of 3.02 and Kirsten Giles leads the team with 9.52 assists per set… The Argos have won 21 matches in a row against UAH, and own a 22-5 record in the all-time series.

Tori Martella is within striking distance of the program's all-time digs record, needing 156 to set a new school mark... Martella posted a new program record with 572 digs in the 2015 season.

MARTELLA REPEATS: Senior libero
Tori Martella continues to be a staple for the UWF volleyball program, and was recognized for the second time this season as GSC Defensive Player of the Week two weeks ago… It is the fourth time in Martella's career she has won the award… The senior last week recorded at least 20 digs in each of UWF's three wins two weeks ago, including a week-high 23 digs against a previously undefeated Shorter team.

GSC DOMINANCE: Since
Melissa Wolter took over the UWF volleyball program prior to the 2003 season, West Florida has been nearly unstoppable in GSC play, owning a 157-21 record... Last year the Argonauts went 19-1 in GSC action, including a 10-0 mark at home... UWF currently owns a 54-match win streak in regular season home games against conference opponents... The last loss for UWF in a GSC regular season home game came against North Alabama on October 24, 2009... UWF won six consecutive GSC Championships from 2008-2013... UWF currently owns the longest active streak of 20-win seasons in the GSC, which currently stands at 12 (not including 2004 season shortened by Hurri- cane Ivan)... Valdosta State and North Alabama are tied for the second longest active streak of 20-win seasons in the GSC at three... UWF has reached 10-consecutive NCAA South Regional Tournaments.

RETURNING AWARD WINNERS: West Florida's six All-GSC selections in 2015 was the most among GSC teams, and UWF will return five of those six honorees for 2016... Middle blocker
Kathryn Torre, who became the 11th player in pro- gram history to earn AVCA All-American honors last year, is set to return for her senior season... Torre also earned AVCA All-South Region First Team hon- ors in 2015, becoming the 10th player in program history to earn that acheivement...
