CLEVELAND, Tenn. –
Stephen Enderlin scored with 1:21 remaining in the first overtime period to give the University of West Florida men's soccer team a 3-2 win over a red-hot Lee University squad to improve to 3-1-1 in the Gulf South Conference.
West Florida (4-5-1, 3-1-1 GSC) would jump out to a 2-0 lead with a 19th minute goal from
Chandler Castleman and a 53rd minute goal from
Kameron Bethell.
Lee (8-4, 3-1 GSC) responded with a goal just 1:19 after Bethell's goal, and would eventually tie the game in the 64th minute with another tally.
Castleman was a catalyst for the Argonaut offense, tallying a goal with two assists, while recording a game-high six shots and four shots on goal. Castleman provided a pass on Bethell's goal after collecting a long throw in from
Allan Kuhne, while also assisting on Enderlin's game-winner to seal UWF's 3-2 victory.
Phil D'Amico earned his third win of the year and recorded six saves in the effort. With nine saves on Friday against Shorter, D'Amico recorded an impressive .833 save percentage on the weekend.
West Florida, who now sits third in the GSC with 10 points, is idle until next Sunday when it plays Spring Hill at home.
