The University of West Florida men's basketball begins its 2016-17 home schedule this weekend when it hosts Auburn-Montgomery on Saturday. Tipoff between UWF and AUM is slated for 6:30 p.m., and the Argos will follow that contest with a Tuesday matchup against Spring Hill at 7:30 p.m. in part of a men's-women's doubleheader.
SUCCESSFUL START
- For the fourth time in the last six years, UWF has started its regular season with a pair of wins in its first games of the season.
AGAINST NON-CONFERENCE OPPONENTS
- Since the start of the 2013-14 season, UWF has posted an 8-4 record when playing teams outside of the GSC.
- UWF has outscored its opponents 916-852 over those games, which features a 76.3 points per game average and a +5.33 margin of victory.

- UWF has won four of its last six home openers, which includes each of the last two home openers.

- UWF is shooting 38.1% from the floor, while holding its opponents to a 36.2% succes rate. The Argos have struggled from three-point distance, converting on 24.3% of their attempts, but have held the opposition to a dismal 19% from beyond the arc.

SCOUTING AUM
- It will be the first meeting between the Argonauts and Warhawks since Nov. 25, 2005, when UWF topped AUM 74-71 in Pensacola.
UWF is 1-1 all-time against AUM.
- AUM dropped a pair of exhibitions against NCAA Division I programs to start the year, falling to Alabama State 56-50 before dropping a 84-65 contest to Troy. AUM is officially 0-1 on the year after falling to Georgia Southwestern in its season opener on Tuesday.
- The Warhawks take on Union at home on Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. before its meeting with the Argonauts.
- AUM had three players with double-digit point totals and two with double-digit rebound totals in it's season0opening setback. Julius McCoy and Desmond DeRamus each had 12 points, while DeRamus and Romoane Eager each had a team-high 11 boards.
SCOUTING SPRING HILL
- UWF is 8-3 all-time against the Badgers, and have won four-straight against SHC over the past two years.
- The Argos have outscored the Badgers 321-271 in their last four meetings, good for a +12.5 margin of victory over SHC.
- Spring Hill is off to a 0-3 start on the season, and will play Loyola (La.) and West Alabama prior to their Tuesday contest with the Argonauts.
- SHC dropped a pair of contest to GSC foes in Union and Shorter, falling to the Bulldogs 66-53 before dropping a 84-60 decision to Shorter.
- Three Badgers are averaging double figures on the young season, including Walter Massey (11.3 ppg), Shawn Moore (10.7 ppg) and Brandon Fischer (10.3). Massey also leads the team with nine rebounds per game.

SEASON-OPENING EXHIBITION
- West Florida played an exhibition against NCAA Division I Louisiana on Nov. 3, and dropped a 94-72 decision to the Ragin' Cajuns.
- Deangleo Legrier led the way offesnively, going 7-of-8 from the floor with 16 total points.

NEWCOMER SUMMARY
- UWF has eight newcomers on the 2016-17 roster, coming from two different countries and seven different states.
