BOX SCORE: PDF | HTMLPENSACOLA, Fla. – Jason Laatsch led four players in double figures but it wasn't quite enough as West Florida fell to Valdosta State, 75-66, at the UWF Field House Saturday.
UWF finishes the season with a 7-19 record and a 5-17 mark in Gulf South Conference play. The Argonauts won four of their final seven games on the year, including three of six league contests.
Laatsch had 18 points and a career-high eight rebounds.
Rashaan Benson posted 15 points and five assists, while
Deangelo Legrier added 11 points and nine boards off the bench, and

UWF was unable to get the big runs it needed on Saturday, never getting any closer than seven points in the final five minutes. The Argos trimmed the deficit to four three times in the second half but each time saw the Blazers stretch the lead back in their favor.
The Argos shot just 32 percent and were just 7-of-27 from outside. UWF turned the ball over a season-low six times.
VSU (17-10, 13-9 GSC) was led by Chris Longoria's first career double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds. Blake Justin had 17 and was perfect on four attempted from outside to go along with four assists.
The Argos recognized graduate student
Lendward Griffin and redshirt junior
Justin Williams for each of their commitments to the program following the game with a video tribute.
