PENSACOLA, Fla. – Toni Brewer scored a career-high 27 points to help lead West Florida to a 62-55 win over Valdosta State at the UWF Field House Saturday.

On Saturday, Brewer helped rescue the Argonauts from a first-half funk that saw them go into the intermission trailing 24-21.

UWF came out of the locker room and outscored Valdosta 22-10 in the third quarter, due in large part to 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting from Brewer. She added seven more in the fourth quarter as the Argonauts never let the Lady Blazers get any closer than five points.

UWF shot 39 percent in the game but was 14-of-28 in the second half. The Argos were as opportunistic as all season, capitalizing on 12 VSU turnovers and scoring 17 points off those.

Brewer also grabbed 10 rebounds for her seventh double-double of the season. Katie Bobos had 16 points and Alex Coyne added 12 points, five assists and four rebounds.

VSU (11-17, 7-15) was led by Maggie Davis' 12 points.
