Scouting Christian Brothers
*Christian Brothers has gotten off to a rough start, going 1-4. Encouraging for CBU is that four of the team's five games have been decided by just one goal, and one of those losses was to No. 14 Florida Tech on the road.
*Reigning GSC Co-Freshman of the Year Melissa Tammi returns to the Lady Bucs midfield for a second season and was picked as a preseason all-conference selection.
*CBU had five All-GSC selections in 2015, ranking second in the conference, but brings back just one of those players: senior defender Sydney Piper.
*UWF leads the all-time series against CBU 14-9, but the Argos have been even more dominant since 2005. In the last 11 seasons, UWF has gone 13-1 against CBU and has outscored the opposition 55-6.

Pacing the Conference
*Teams led by Joe Bartlinski have posted seven of the 11 highest single-season win totals in GSC history.
*In UWF's 20 years in the Gulf South Conference, the Argonauts have posted a record of 135-14-3 and have outscored their opposition 501-80.
*With Friday's win against Union, West Florida became the first team in Gulf South Conference history to score 500 goals in league play.
*West Florida has an all-time .898 winning percentage in GSC play.

She Is Good
*Freshman Marjorie Boilesen leads UWF with eight points through the team's first five games.
*She ranks second in the GSC in shots per game (5.2) and assists (4).

No Place Like Home
*The home conference schedule opens up this weekend for West Florida, and the friendly confines of the UWF Soccer Complex have been a great spot for the Argos since 2001, as the team has put together a 126-14-4 record at home.

With a New President
*UWF president Judy Bense is retiring at the end of 2016, meaning the university will choose a new president for the first time since 2008.
*In the 2008 season, the UWF women's soccer team went 24-1-1, won a Gulf South Conference Championship, and finished as national runners-up and set an NCAA DII record with 20 shutouts in a season.
*In the two years after Bense was elected, 2009 and 2010, UWF led DII in scoring offense (5.04 goals per game and 4.24 goals per game).

By the Numbers
*UWF ranks third in the conference in goals, assists and total scoring this year, and led the GSC in goals, assists, points and goals against average in 2015. The program has had the best defense in the conference in three of the last four seasons.
*Marjorie Boilesen currently ranks 21st in DII and leads the conference with four assists on the season, and her eight points on the year rank sixth in the GSC.
*Like last year, West Florida has benefited from a well-rounded attack. Sara Helgadottir and Kaley Ward have each scored three times, while four different players have added at least one assist.
*In 2015, UWF was the only team in the GSC to have three of the conference's top goal-scorers and four of the best goal-assisters in the league.
