HOOVER, Ala. – The University of West Florida Volleyball team (17-4, 7-0 GSC) opened the South Region Crossover Tournament with a 3-1 comeback victory vs. Rollins (5-8, 4-5 SSC) Friday evening in the Finley Center. The team extended its current win streak to 14 straight matches behind an impressive double-double from Nadine Williams, who turned in the key performance for UWF by going for 15 digs and 14 kills while hitting .333 for the match.
Jordyn Poppen, Rachel Neblett and Williams all finished with three kills in the first, but Rollins proved to be the more effective team early, outhitting UWF .306 to .233 en route to a 25-21 victory. The Tars piled up 16 kills in the opening set vs. 12 for West Florida. Each team finished with five errors.
UWF bounced back with a more efficient second set, hitting .318 and using four kills from Courtney Markes and three more each from Williams and Neblett to record a 25-19 victory.
