CLEVELAND, Tenn. - The University of West Florida men's soccer battled to a 0-0 finish against away to Lee University in Saturday evening.

UWF came out strong with Sergio Otalora testing Lee goalkeeper Tristan Putnam in the eighth minute. Two minutes later Ed Chappe would keep his shot on frame to force another save from Tristan Putnam.

After an even first half UWF would come out strong putting five more shots on target. Tristan Putnam remained resolute in goal stopping a stinging volley from Sergio Otalora in the 59th minute.

UWF would have a total of seven shots on target compared to Lee's fifteen total shots with just two drawing a save from UWF goalkeeper Jacob Murray.

After 90 minutes the game remained in deadlock, calling for two periods of overtime. Neither team could find a breakthrough and the game ended scoreless after Murray made a timely stop in the last minute of overtime to deny Lee.

UWF moves to 4-5-1 overall and 2-3-1 in the GSC after a win and a draw this weekend on the road.

UWF will be back in action at home against Spring Hill on Sunday, October 15th, at 3pm.
