PENSACOLA, Fla. –
UWF men's basketball (4-0) will travel to Mobile Tuesday for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off vs. Spring Hill College (2-1). The contest will be West Florida's second on the road this season.

The Argos are coming off back-to-back wins vs. Miles College last week. Shondell Jackson led the team in scoring with 16 points, and five Argos finished in double figures.

UWF men's basketball made it two victories vs. Miles College, overcoming a 39-34 halftime deficit Saturday evening in the Knox-Windham Gymnasium to win 74-58. The Argos were led by DJ Thorpe, who scored a game-high 19 points, and Tucker, who notched his third straight double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds.

UWF women's basketball will also be in action Tuesday at the Arthur R. Outlaw Center on the campus of Spring Hill. The UWF women's team will open play at 5:30 vs. Spring Hill with the men's contest to follow. The games will be the first time in 2017-18 that the UWF women and men have played back-to-back contests on the same floor.

TAKING A ROAD TRIP

* The Argos opened the season with three straight wins at home vs. Albany State, Fort Valley State and Miles. The team traveled to Fairfield for a rematch with Miles Saturday, bouncing back from a halftime deficit to get a 74-58 victory.

* UWF head coach Jeff Burkhamer on the team's first road test of the season: "It was a good road game for us to try to grow up a little bit, to learn to play through some adversity. It was a good win in a tough environment."

* Last year, UWF men's basketball posted a record of 8-7 in road games and 1-0 on neutral courts. Under third-year head coach Jeff Burkhamer, the Argos are 11-18 in road games. The Argos have won five of their last seven regular season road games dating back to Jan. 28, 2017.

* West Florida will once again play away from the UWF Field House this weekend. The team travels to the Valdosta State Thanksgiving Classic in Valdosta, Ga. Nov. 25-26. The Argos take on Webber State at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday and then play Fayetteville State at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.

* The Argos are a perfect 3-0 in program history on trips to Spring Hill and 2-0 on trips there under Burkhamer. The team scored an 81-69 win at Spring Hill Feb. 24, 2016 and an 85-75 victory there on Nov. 30, 2016.

* After the trip to Valdosta, the Argos will be at home for four straight games to open GSC play Dec. 2-18.

* The Badgers are 2-1 on the season. They notched a victory vs. Shorter (73-70) as part of the GSC-SIAC Crossover Challenge on Nov. 11 and beat Pensacola Christian College at home 104-61 Nov. 16. The team has suffered its only official loss (59-54) to Union as part of the GSC-SIAC Crossover Challenge Nov. 10. The team has played exhibitions vs. South Alabama, Samford, and, most recently, Nicholls State, dropping all of them. The team will take part in another exhibition at New Orleans Nov. 24.

* The Badgers went 10-18 overall last year and 9-8 in SIAC play, their best record in conference play under Niven.

* This year's SHC squad features four seniors, five juniors, four sophomores and four freshman. Senior Walter Massey was a preseason All-SIAC pick.

* The Badgers are currently being led by Brandon Fischer and Deandre Lacy, who have each averaged 12.0 points over the team's first three games. The well-balanced Badgers are getting 11.0 PPG from Massey and 10.0 PPG from Andrew Dotson and William Lloyd.
