In the latest NCAA regional rankings, UWF maintained its No. 6 ranking. The NCAA will produce one final regional rankings next week, before the field is announced on March 5.

RECORD-SETTING IMPROVEMENT
- With an 11-win improvement from last season UWF has solidified the best single-season improvement in program history.
- West Florida's improvement could also rank as one of the best in recent Division II history with a pair of wins this weekend. A pair of wins would have UWF 12 games better than last season -- a feat only 12 teams have accomplished since 2010.

GOING FOR 20
- With two games remaining on its 2016-17 regular season schedule, UWF is gunning for its first 20-win season since 1997-98, when the team posted a 20-8 record. It would be just the second 20-win season in program history.

DEFENDING THE FIELD HOUSE
- West Florida currently rides a seven-game home winning streak -- its longest since 2003-04 when the team won nine home games in a row from Dec. 5, 2003 to Jan. 29, 2004.
- Over the span of those seven games, UWF has shot 47.4 percent while limiting its opponents to a 43.6 percent success rate. UWF is also successful on 37.7 percent of its three-point attempts, while holding opponents to a lackluster 30.4 percent connection rate.
- The Argos are beating their opponents by an average of 9.3 points per game (84-74.7) during the stretch. UWF also has a strong +4.0 turnover margin over its last seven home games.
- Five players are averaging double-digit point totals over the stretch, including Deangelo Legrier who leads the team with 15.3 points per game.
- Legrier also leads the team with 7.7 rebounds per game, closely followed y Darryl Tucker who is grabbing 7.6 rebounds per game over the last seven home games.

CLINCHED A SPOT
- For the first time since 2013-14, UWF will make an appearance in the GSC Tournament after a West Georgia loss earlier in the week clinched a tournament spot for the Argos.
- West Florida currently stands in a tie for fourth place in the conference standings with an 12-8 record. To solidify a first-round home game, UWF would need to go 2-0 on the weekend with Christian Brothers going 1-1, or the Argos could go 1-1 over the weekend if CBU were to lose both of thier games to close the regular season. Christian Brothers ends the regular season with Alabama Huntsville and North Alabama.
- It will be the 10th GSC Tournament appearance for the Argos in program history.
- Jeff Burkhamer is the first UWF head coach to ever reach the GSC Tournament within two seasons of being hired.

HOPING TO DANCE
- After opening at No. 6 in the NCAA's first regional rankings, UWF stayed put and remains at No. 6 in the lastest regional rankings.
- Should the Argos land in the top 8 spots, it would be the first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance in program history.
- It is the first time since 2012 the Argos have been ranked and UWF was also at No. 6 in those regional rankings.
- The DII South Regional will be made up of five at-large teams and three automatic qualifiers of the conference tournament champions of the Gulf South, Sunshine State and Southern Intercollegiate Athletic conferences.
- The NCAA will announce its final regional rankings on March 1 leading up to selection Sunday on March 5 at 9:30 p.m. Central time on NCAA.com.
