HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The University of West Florida men's soccer team fell to Alabama Huntsville 1-0 in their second game of the weekend. With the loss, UWF is now 1-3 for the year and 0-2 in Gulf South Conference play.
UWF had trouble getting things going against a stingy UAH defense that allowed just one goal in two weekend games, against the Argonauts and Spring Hill.
The Argos matched the opposition's tough defense in the first 45 minutes, taking a 0-0 tie into the half at Charger Park. But the difference came in the 51st minute, when the Chargers' Nolan Dillon headed in a cross from Gunnar Birgisson five minutes into the second half.
The Argonauts had a total of five shots with one on target. Argonaut keeper Jacob Murray recorded a career-high six saves on the day after facing seven shots from UAH.
The Argonauts will have a chance to right the ship at home on Friday against Mississippi College, with kickoff scheduled for 5 pm.
