Chappe Scores Twice As Argos Tame Tigers

UWF men's soccer stays unbeaten in conference play

PENSACOLA, Fla. – UWF men's soccer cruised to a 4-1 victory over West Alabama Friday evening at the UWF Soccer Complex. Ed Chappe finished with two goals. Sean Hoffstatter finished with two assists.

Chappe opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, capitalizing on a UWA turnover to beat keeper Austin Salazar. Ali Brador struck back for UWA 69 seconds later, putting one home off a corner by David Nascimiento to even the score 1-1.

Hoffstatter set up Chappe's goal in the 30th minute to make it 2-1. The strike was Chappe's seventh, the fifth most in the GSC. Hoffstatter would pick up a second assist less than two minutes into the second half. This time, he set up Andrew Wentz for his third goal of 2018 to run the Argo lead to 3-1. The assists brought Hoffstatter to a conference-best 27 points.

Kam Bethell added his third goal of the year late to put the contest out of reach. West Florida is now 7-3-2 vs. UWA since 2012. Jacob Murray picked up the victory in net. He made one save.
