PENSACOLA, Fla. – West Florida will host Christian Brothers University at 3:30pm CT on Tuesday at the UWF Soccer Complex for the opening round of the Gulf South Conference Tournament. UWF beat Christian Brothers in an overtime thriller, earlier in the season 2-1. These teams also squared off last year in the opening round of the Gulf South Conference Tournament. The Argos won that match 4-1 at the UWF Soccer Complex.
The Buccaneers are 8-6-2 overall, and 7-5-1 in conference play this season. They are coming off of an impressive 6-0 shutout victory at Auburn-Montgomery on Saturday to close out the regular season. Two players to watch out for in this matchup against Christian Brothers are Sinead Tierney and Bailey Tadlock. Tierney is ranked fourth in the Gulf South Conference in both Total Goals Scored (11), and Average Goals Per Game (.733). Tadlock is third in the conference in Total Assists (8) and Average Assists Per Game (.500).
The winner of this match will face the winner of #4 West Alabama and #5 Valdosta State on Friday in Montgomery, Alabama. UWF defeated West Alabama 3-1 and Valdosta State 3-0 earlier this season.
