SCOUTING LEE
* Lee University has a 13-6-1 overall record, and finished their regular season winning five in a row. The Flames defeated West Georgia 1-0 in the first round of the Gulf South Conference Tournament, before falling to Montevallo by the same score in the second round. UWF is 4-2-2 overall against Lee and has a 2-1-1 record when hosting the Flames at the UWF Soccer Complex.

* West Florida shutout Lee 1-0 on October 5th this season, thanks to a stellar performance by Goalkeeper Esthefanny Barreras and the Argos' defense. Barreras had four saves in the match, as the Argonaut defense only allowed four shots on goal the entire game. Senior Sam Waarum scored the only goal in the match in the 22nd minute, which allowed the UWF defense to settle in.

* Forward Mia Hollingsworth earned All-GSC first team, and Midfielder Kelsey Yoder was named to the All-GSC second team. Hollingsworth is currently ranked second in the GSC in Average Shots Per Game (4.56), and Average Points Per Game (1.61). She is also third in the conference in Average Goals Per Game (.667). Yoder ranks fifth in the conference in Average Goals Per Game (.500).

* This is Lee's fourth NCAA appearance. The Flames own a 1-2-2 all-time record in the NCAA Tournament, falling last year to the Argos in the South Region Final in a shootout. They beat Florida Tech and got past Nova Southeastern to advance to the South Region Final last year.

SCOUTING ROLLINS
* Rollins College owns a 9-3-5 overall record, and finished their regular season with back to back victories against Florida Tech and Eckerd. The Tars defeated Florida Tech again in the first round of the Sunshine State Conference Tournament 1-0. They lost in the second round of the tournament to Nova Southeastern by a final score of 3-0. UWF is 13-3-2 overall against Rollins and has a 5-3-1 record when playing the Tars at the UWF Soccer Complex.

* Junior Forward Kathryn O'Brien and Goalkeeper Kelly Rowswell earned All-SSC first team honors. O'Brien is ranked seventh in the SSC in Average Shots Per Game (2.73), and Total Shots (41). She is also tenth in the conference in Average Goals Per Game (.400), and Total Goals (6). Rowswell ranks second in the conference in Goals Against Average (.781), Save Percentage (.854), and Shutouts Per Game (.412).

* This is Rollins' ninth NCAA appearance. The Tars are 8-8 all-time in the NCAA Tournament, and last appeared in the NCAA Tournament in 2016. In 2016 they beat Lee University 3-2 in overtime, and were eliminated by Barry University 2-1 in the second round of the tournament.

AGAINST THE REGION
* UWF leads the South Region in Scoring Offense (3.1), Total Goals (62), Total Assists (57), and Total Points (181).

* The Gulf South Conference has three teams (West Florida, Lee, and Mississippi College) in the NCAA Tournament this year. Mississippi College is the third seed in the South Region and will face Nova Southeastern on Friday at 2pm CT. The winner of that match plays Barry University in Miami on Sunday.

* West Florida holds a 2-0 record against teams in the regional field this season, but holds a major advantage in the all-time records against those same teams, with a 35-14-6 record.

IN THE TOURNAMENT
* UWF leads all GSC teams in tournament appearances (16) and wins (24).

* West Florida won its fourth South Region title in the last six years in 2017, after picking up wins over North Alabama and Mississippi College in the first two rounds, and advancing off of a shootout victory against Lee University in the South Region Final. The Argos eventually fell to the national runner-up Carson-Newman 2-0 in the NCAA Quarterfinals.

OUR ALL-GSC PICKS
* The Argos earned 10 All-Gulf South Conference honors last week. Head coach Joe Bartlinski won GSC Coach of the Year for the seventh time in his career. Peyton Peffers, Jessica Quixley, Celine Rumpf, and Esthefanny Barreras were given first-team honors, while Grace Busby, Victoria Swift, and Sam Waarum took home second-team honors.

* Goalkeeper Esthefanny Barreras was named the GSC Player of the Year. Barreras has earned five Defender of the Week Awards this season for the Gulf South Conference. She is the conference leader in Goals Against Average (.269), Save Percentage (.909), and Total Shutouts (10).
