Carrollton, Ga. – UWF won their seventh straight game to improve to 7-0 on the season with a shutout victory at the UWG University Soccer Field Friday night. The Argos struck early, and that's all they needed. West Florida is now 18-0 all-time against the West Georgia Wolves.
GAME STATS: Jessica Quixley gave the Argos the early lead in this match with a header goal from a flawless corner kick taken by
Sam Waarum in the third minute.
Sam Waarum picked up her third assist of the season on the play. Although neither team scored another goal, the Argonauts remained on the attack and dominated the time of possession. The Argos outshot the Wolves 23-3, marking the Wolves' season low in shots taken.
Esthefanny Barreras and the rest of the Argos' defense picked up their fourth shutout of the year.
NEXT UP: UWF will head to South Georgia to visit Valdosta State on Sunday afternoon at 1pm ET. The Valdosta State Blazers are 5-2, (3-0) coming off a shutout win at the VSU Soccer Complex on Friday night against Spring Hill.
