No. 4 UWF Soars Past the Falcons for Tenth Straight Win

Peffers Has Scored Two Goals in Two Consecutive Games

Montevallo, Ala. – The Argos are now 10-0 this season after they defeated the Montevallo Falcons Sunday afternoon 3-0 at Georgine Lemak Soccer Field. After Sunday's win, UWF is (14-3-1) overall against the Falcons and (7-3-1) when playing Montevallo on the road.

FIRST HALF: Although both teams got multiple quality shots off, neither team scored a goal in the first half. Both goalkeepers came up big in the first half, with each one having three saves.

SECOND HALF: The second half was all Argonauts as they scored 3 unanswered goals to secure the victory. Freshman Peyton Peffers continued her hot streak, scoring two more goals in this game. Both goals came within a minute of each other late in the second half. That gives her four goals over the weekend, and two consecutive games scoring two goals. Deneisha Blackwood had the assist on the first goal and Kendall Bobbitt got the assist for the second goal. Jessica Quixley put the game out of reach when she sent one to the back of the net with five minutes left to put the Argos up three.

OVERALL STATS: UWF attempted more corner kicks than Montevallo, 6-2. The Argonauts outshot the Falcons 14-9. This is West Florida's sixth shutout of the year.

NEXT UP: West Florida will return home to host the Lee University Flames at 7:30pm CT on Friday night at the UWF Soccer Complex. The Argos will finish up the weekend slate on Sunday, when they take on Shorter University at 3pm CT.
