UWF Records Second Straight Shutout to Complete Weekend Sweep

West Florida is a Perfect 7-0 at Home this Season

PENSACOLA, Fla. – West Florida scored two goals in each half today to defeat West Georgia by a final score of 4-0. UWF is now 10-4 overall and 7-3 against Gulf South Conference teams, ranking them fifth in the conference standings. All ten of the Argonauts' victories this year have been shutout wins.
 
FIRST HALF: Senior Kaila Armstrong scored first for the Argos for a second straight game. This time she scored in the 25th minute to give UWF the lead. Freshman Anita Danielsdottir increased the Argonaut lead to two after scoring a goal off a corner kick from Annie Rolf in the 33rd minute.

SECOND HALF: Rolf added onto the Argonaut lead with a goal in the 63rd minute off an assist from Hannah Wooten. The Argos weren't done yet though as they added another goal in the 77th minute when senior Robyn Herman scored a header goal off a perfectly placed corner kick from Rolf.

OVERALL STATS: UWF outshot West Georgia 37-4, with the Argos totaling 18 shots in the first half and 19 in the second half. West Florida had nine corner kicks in today's match, and held the Wolves to three.
 
NEXT UP: The Argonauts will only play one game next weekend, as they will travel to Spring Hill to take on the Badgers on Sunday at 1:00pm CT. Spring Hill is 1-13 overall and 0-10 in GSC action. Their only win came against Georgia Southwestern State by a final score of 2-1.
