PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Argos succeeded last night finishing the regular season 16-0 in the GSC with an undefeated conference record on Senior Night. UWF won their final regular season match against Auburn Montgomery last night in a three set match.

UWF ends the regular season with a 24-8 overall record and 16-0 in the GSC and AUM finishes their season 16-15 overall and 7-9 in the GSC. 

Last night was senior night where we recognized our five seniors who have lead this team on and off the court. The Argos seniors are Marissa Hackett, Phoebe Hozeska, Jordyn Poppen, Ebony Powers, and Brogan Wallin. 

In the match, Powers lead the team in kills with 11 on 26 attacks and no errors hitting .423. She was followed by Poppen with nine kills and then Veresia Yon with seven kills on 17 attacks with no errors hitting .500 on the match.

Wallin had an outstanding match with 19 assists, two service aces, two kills, and six digs. Taylor  Vaneekeren also had a good night with 17 assists, three service aces and nine digs. Ashton Marshall lead the team in digs with 15 on the match. As a team, UWF tallied six aces, 10 blocks, and 40 kills. 

Up next, the Blue and Green will be hosting the GSC tournament starting on Friday, November 22nd through Sunday, November 24th. The bracket can be found online on the 2019 GSC Volleyball Championship page on the GSC website. As of now, West Florida has secured the No.1 seed, Alabama Huntsville is the No.2 seed, West Georgia is No.3, Auburn Montgomery is No.6 and Union, Montevallo, and Mississippi College have all clinched a spot in the tournament without seeding yet.
