Christian Brothers Volleyball
PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Argos deliver a win today for Parent's Day in a three set match against Christian Brothers to continue their undefeated GSC streak. UWF came out to play today taking and finished the weekend 2-0 against Union yesterday and CBU today.
With their win today in decisions of 25-21, 25-16, 25-17, UWF has improved their record to 19-8 overall and 11-0 in the GSC. The Bucs have moved to 6-21 overall and 3-8 in the GSC.Â
UWF came out today and had a great back row that allowed the offense to spread. The Argos first touch improved which allowed the setters to disperse the ball across the net and involve the middles.
Todays match leaders in kills was both Jordyn Poppen and Ebony Powers each with 10 kills. Sadie Hough followed them with seven kills on 16 attacks and two errors hitting .312. Setter Taylor Vaneekeren was very active on the front row today and earned herself four kills on seven attacks and only a single error to hit .429. Vaneekeren also put up 20 assists on the match.Â
The back row was held down by both Poppen and Brogan Wallin who each had 12 digs. They were followed by both Ashton Marshall and Zadie Engleberger who each had eight digs.Â
Transfer Natasha Bannister came in for the Argos in the third set playing her third match of this season and put the ball away with two kills on five attacks and no errors hitting .400.Â
The Argos next match will be on Tuesday at home against West Georgia with the first serve at 7:00 PM.Â
