LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The Argos deliver a win today in a four set match against West Alabama to continue their undefeated GSC streak. UWF competed hard tonight winning in four sets over the Tigers.
With their win tonight, only dropping the third set, in decisions of 25-19, 25-21, 25-19, 25-22 UWF has improved their record to 21-8 overall and 13-0 in the GSC. The Tigers have moved to 10-20 overall and 4-10 in the GSC.Â
Tonight's match was a fight for every point and a game of control. UWF's offensive leader was Veresia Yon who had 15 kills on 29 attacks and only two errors hitting .448 for the match. She was followed by Jordyn Poppen with 14 kills and Ebony Powers with 13 kills.Â
Poppen led of the defensive end with 21 digs followed by Ashton Marshall with 16 digs. The Argos blocking game was involved with Yon leading with four blocks and was followed by Sadie Hough and JoDee Kovanda each with three blocks.Â
As a team, UWF hit .248 overall and totaled 60 kills. The Argos also had six service aces with Poppen earning three of the six.Â
The Argos next match will be tomorrow in Clinton, Miss. against Mississippi College with the first serve at 1:00 PM.Â
