PENSACOLA, Fla. – The UWF men's basketball team suffered a 75-63 loss to Lee University at home in the first of three games they will host this week.Â
UWF (3-6, 1-2 Gulf South) shot just 35 percent, but compared to Lee, they just couldn't keep up. The Argonauts have two more games in this three home-game week stretch.
Jon Brown had a 25 points to go with seven rebounds for the Argonauts. Cameron Cox and Brown were the only two to score from the three-point arch as Brown tallied four threes and Cox banked two. Cox scored 15 points and five assists.
UWF had a rough start to the game trailing to the Flames 14-0 within the first five minutes of the game. The Argos turned it around as Brown started up the offense with their first nine points. UWF then trailed at the half 33-27 and fought back, but couldn't break the Flames 10 point lead they built.Â
LEE (7-3, 2-1) outscored UWF 26-22 in the paint and shot 51.9 percent from the floor, including 46 percent after halftime. Quay Kennedy was 8-of-10 from the floor and 6-of-8 from the arch. He led the Flames with 23 points. Kentrell Evans also played well tallying 16 points and going 3 for 4 on the free throw line.
The Argonauts will be back at home Tuesday, Dec. 17 to take on Alabama Huntsville. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. at the UWF Field House following the Women's Basketball game at 5:30 p.m.
