PENSACOLA, Fla. – UWF men's basketball dropped its Senior Day matchup vs. Mississippi College 77-71 Saturday at the UWF Field House. Jon Brown posted 25 points and eight rebounds in the loss.
 
Brown has now gone off for at least 20 points in each of the last four games. The contest was the seventh straight in which he has scored at least 15. He did his damage on 7-of-17 shooting from the field, 2-of-6 shooting from deep, and 9-of-10 shooting from the line.
 
The Argonauts led 34-32 in the waning seconds of the first half before the Choctaws got a last second three by Scot Hundt to build a one-point halftime advantage.
 
A pair of free throws by Henri Ventoniemi helped the Argos take a 68-67 lead with 2:36 to play in regulation. The Choctaws responded with an 8-1 run though, pulling away late for the victory.
 
Four Mississippi College players would finish in double figures. Brandon Boston led the way for the Choctaws (6-16, 3-14 GSC) with 14 points plus seven boards. Mississippi College went 6-of-11 from beyond the arc.
 
Jarrett Henderson went a perfect 6-of-6 from the field en route to 14 points. The contest was his sixth straight with at least 14. He added six rebounds and two blocks. Maxwell Benoit netted ten points.
 
The program honored the contributions of senior players Rashaan Benson, Henri Ventoniemi and Jarrett Henderson as well as senior manager Ray Brooks postgame.
 
UWF (11-15, 7-11 GSC) will remain in Pensacola to close the home schedule Thursday, Feb. 21 vs. Valdosta State (20-5, 13-4 GSC). Tip is slated for 7:30 p.m.
