PENSACOLA, Fla. – UWF men's basketball dropped its home finale vs. No. 22 Valdosta State 85-69 Thursday night at the UWF Field House. Jarrett Henderson scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds. The Argos close the season at Montevallo Saturday.
 
Reigning GSC Freshman of the Week Jon Brown added 17 points and five boards. Rashaan Benson notched 11 points while also handing out five assists. Maxwell Benoit netted 12 points while also posting four rebounds.
 
The teams battled closely at the outset of the game, and UWF led 21-20 with just over six left in the first. The Blazers closed the opening period on a 16-7 run though to take a 36-28 lead to the locker room.
 
Henri Ventoniemi finished the game with seven points, seven rebounds, and three assists. The game was the final at home for the senior class of Benson, Henderson and Ventoniemi. The Argos finish 5-7 at the UWF Field House this season.
 
Beau Justice led the way for Valdosta State (21-5, 14-4 GSC) with 18 points. Four Blazers finished in double figures, and six scored at least nine points. The Blazers were able to win the rebounding battle 46-32.
 
UWF closes its season Saturday at Montevallo (9-19, 5-13 GSC). Tip is slated for 4:00 p.m.
