No.8 West Florida is Back to Their Winning Play

Argos travel to Rome, GA. next to face Shorter tomorrow

CLEVELAND, Tenn.-  The No.8 UWF Women's Tennis (3-1, 3-0) won against the Lee Lady Flames (3-1, 0-1) 4-2 at Lee's Gulf South Conference opener at the Lee Tennis Complex.

Both the women's and men's teams had limited courts this morning, which led them to not play the doubles round as planned.

The Argos won 4-2 overall and pulled out a win keeping them undefeated in conference play. No.1 Berta Bonardi played in the No.1 spot and took care of business winning 6-1, 6-1. Other nationally ranked player at No.29 is Karolina Silwanowicz who won in the third spot 6-1, 6-2. In the No.2 spot, Jennifer Rink had a hard battle and ended up losing 6-3, 2-6, 6-4. Diana Vlad and Heather Mixon both won their games which was able to clinch the match.

The team will be finishing up their weekend travel series with a quick drive to Shorter University in Rome, GA. for their match up with the Hawks at 9:00 A.M. The Hawks are 0-2 in conference while the Argos will come into the GSC match 0-2 in conference play.
