Pensacola, Fla. – The Argos beat the Golden Rams by a final score of 5-0 on Sunday to improve to 2-1 overall. West Florida's defense didn't allow a single shot on goal the entire game, giving goalkeeper Esthefanny Barreras her second shutout of the season.
 
FIRST HALF: UWF scored two goals in the first half to take control of this match. Annie Rolf got the Argos on the board first in the 14^th minute with her second goal of the year. Sophomore Peyton Peffers scored in the 16^th minute off a header to pick up her first goal of the season.

SECOND HALF: Katie Vance helped the Argos increase their lead to three when she struck the back of the net with a laser from outside the box in the 66^th minute. Rolf scored her second goal of the game in the 71^st minute off a nice assist from freshman Ann-Marie Schwaner. Destiny Hird added her first goal of the season in the 83^rd minute to give UWF the 5-0 victory.

OVERALL STATS: West Florida had the advantage in time of possession with 62% and outshot Albany State 33-3. UWF had eleven corner kicks today, while holding the Golden Rams to three total.
 
NEXT UP: The Argos will host Saint Leo at the UWF Soccer Complex next Sunday at 12:30pm CT in Pensacola, Florida. Saint Leo is (2-1-1) shutting out Mississippi College 1-0 in their season opener. UWF is (7-1-2) all-time against Saint Leo and 3-0 versus the Lions at the UWF Soccer Complex.
