PENSACOLA, Fla. –  West Florida Volleyball has wrapped up their first home week of conference play with wins over UAH, MC and today against West Alabama. With today's 3-0 win over the Tigers, the Argos move to 10-5 on the season and 3-0 in the GSC. West Alabama moves to 5-10 and 0-3 after today's match.Â
Against West Alabama (W, 3-0): Today the Argos played lights out and defeated West Alabama respectively in three sets, 25-18, 25-22, 25-16 decisions.
Today's leaders for the match on the defensive end was Veresia Yon with five blocks including one solo block. Ashton Marshall with 15 digs followed by Ebony Powers with 13 digs. Offensively, the Argos finished the night hitting .333 with Senior Jordyn Poppen leading the way in kills with 17 on 29 attacks and no errors hitting .586. Poppen also had a significant record breaking night as she had her 1,000th career kill in the second set.Â
Taylor Vaneekeren recorded 22 assists in the match followed by Brogan Wallin with 11 assists and nine digs as well. Â
The Argos will now bring their conference play on the road as they travel to Georgia next weekend. UWF will face University of West Georgia on Friday,October 4th at 5:00 PM in Carrolton, GA. and then the next day the Argos will play Valdosta State University on Saturday, October 5th at 6:00 PM in Valdosta, GA..Â
The next home match for the Argos will be Tuesday, October 15th for the West Florida Volleyball team's annual Pack it Pink night. The match is set for 7:00 PM against Belhaven University. UWF's Pack it Pink Auction will go LIVE on the first of October.
