VALDOSTA, Ga. – The UWF men's basketball team fell to No. 22 Valdosta State, 88-53, at The Complex on Thursday night.
 
VSU outscored UWF 26-8 over the final 7:52 of the first half and maintained a double-digit lead the rest of the game.
 
UWF (5-7, 2-3 Gulf South) committed 15 turnovers in the first half that led to 18 points for the home squad. Jon Brown was the lone player in double figure scoring for the Argonauts, finishing with 13 points. Brett Carter, Jr. had eight off the bench in his first game of the season.
 
VSU (9-3, 3-2) had five players in double figures, led by Cam Hamilton with 25 on 6-of-9 shooting from outside. He had 18 points and four triples in the first half. The Blazers made eight 3-pointers in the game. VSU outrebounded UWF 50-30.
 
UWF will return to action on Monday with another road contest, traveling to Montevallo. Tip-off at Trustmark Arena will be at 7:30 p.m.
