MONTEVALLO, Ala.- The third ranked West Florida Men's Tennis team was able to enjoy a comfortable win after several close ones, as they defeated Montevallo by a final of 6-1 at the Montevallo Tennis Complex on Saturday morning.

The win moves the Argonauts to 3-1 and 2-0 in the Gulf South, while the loss drops the Falcons to 1-3 and 0-1 in the GSC.

Despite a falter early in the #3 doubles pairing, the Argos were able to pick up points as the duos of Nicholas Lecoutre and Gabriel Nery plus Serdar Bojadiev and Adam Svensson were able to come out on top in their match-ups by finals of 7-5 and 6-0, respectively.

UWF was able to carry on the momentum of the doubles' success as they were able to pull out all but one of the singles matches.

Bojadiev, the 11th ranked national and fourth ranked south regional player, started things out with a 6-3, 6-0 triumph. Senior Juan Cabrera (30th nationally, eighth regionally) follwed with a comeback as he rallied to win 0-6, 7-6, 6-2.

Svensson, Nery and Pedro Cordeiro were able to close out their matches to seal the win for the Argonauts.

West Florida will conclude their road trip with a date against Alabama Huntsville.  The match between the Argonauts and Chargers will begin at 10 am.
