Nobles Has Co-Offensive Coordinator Title Added To Responsibilities

Nobles will continue to work with the UWF quarterbacks

PENSACOLA, Fla. – UWF head football coach Pete Shinnick has announced that Kaleb Nobles has received additional duties, being named the Co-Offensive Coordinator.

Nobles has been the Quarterbacks coach for the past three seasons and the Director of Football Operations for the past two. He was UWF's first starting quarterback during the inaugural season of 2016.

"Having played in our system for one year and now coached for the last three years, Kaleb understands our offense as well as anyone," said Shinnick, who has been the only offensive coordinator in program history. "This is the natural next step for him to be our Co-Offensive Coordinator. I look forward to him embracing this opportunity while helping our team seek Arete daily."

Nobles has mentored the UWF signal callers each of the last three years, including National Freshman of the Year Austin Reed in 2019. Reed threw for 4,089 yards and 272.6 yards per game to rank 13th nationally. He also completed 57 percent of his passes and tossed 40 touchdowns while rushing for six more.

The 2019 quarterback group established program records with a 56.8 completion percentage, a 148.6 pass efficiency rating, 14.6 yards per completion and 411.9 yards of total offense per game.

"I am extremely thankful for this opportunity and love working at what I consider one of the best Universities in the nation," Nobles said. "I have learned a lot from Coach Shinnick both as a player and coach since 2016. I've learned the background and organizational part of putting together a weekly game plan and also how to execute that plan throughout the practice week in prep for each game.

"What has really set us apart in our short history as a football program is our culture and weekly attention to detail. Those things are a testament to Coach Shinnick's vision for this team and our entire staff upholding those standards."

In the 2018, the Argonauts completed 55.2 percent of their pass attempts, tying the school record at the time.

In his first season on the sidelines, Nobles worked daily with a quartet of QBs during the historic 2017 national finalist campaign. Mike Beaudry eclipsed many of Nobles' 2016 marks, finishing with 3,215 yards through the air and 29 touchdowns while being named the Gulf South Conference Offensive Freshman of the Year.

Nobles started his playing career at Valdosta State in 2012, transferred to UWF in the summer of 2016, and helped provide immediate leadership and focus to the upstart program. He led UWF to a 5-6 overall record and threw for 3,058 yards with 28 touchdowns. He also established school records with a 56 percent completion rate and 277.3 passing yards per game.

He earned his bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration from Valdosta State in December of 2015.
