MONTEVALLO, Ala- The University of West Florida Women's Soccer team picked up their third consecutive conference win on Sunday with a 3-2 win over the Montevallo Falcons. Three different Argos scored to help improve the teams record to 7-1-1 on the season and 3-1-1 in Gulf South Conference play.
Peyton Peffers scored in the 17th minute after an assist from
Destiny Hird to give the Argos the 1-0 lead. Both teams played a highly physical game limiting opportunities for the other to score. In the first half of the game UWF was limited to just three shots, Montevallo finished the first half with two.
Defensively the Argos limited the Falcons possession. However, late in the first half Montevallo's Miranda Fragoso scored an assisted goal to even the score before the end of the half.
In the second half of the game the Argo's came out with a new energy and scored early on. In the 50th minute
Blair Cowan scored her seventh goal of the season after an assist from Senior defender,
Hannah Wooten.
The Falcons pressed hard in the minutes after and evened the score at 2-2 after a goal from Espy Sanchez, in the 56th minute.
UWF quickly responded, driving the ball back down field where
Brianna Pope would find
Julia Comin and score the Argos third goal of the game to retake the lead, late in the 56th minute.
Throughout the second half the Argos pressed hard and were able to take five shots.
Blair Cowan led the team in shots with three, followed by
Peyton Peffers with two. Overall UWF outshot UM 8-6, Montevallo finished the game with three corner kicks.

Charline Favier and
Kelsey Brann played a half during the match. Each allowing one goal and picking up one save.
The Argos will return home for homecoming this upcoming weekend and face Lee on Oct.15 followed by Shorter on Oct.17.
