PENSACOLA, Fla. – In the Argonauts 14
th annual Pack It Pink match, the University of West Florida Volleyball team took care of business both on the court and off, sweeping Union in the match while raising over $4,000 through their silent auction off the court.
Activities started this afternoon with a survivor walk where individuals who have battled through cancer, as well as those who have lost their fight with cancer, were honored and recognized by all in attendance as well as the West Florida coaching staff and players.
When the match got started shortly after, the Argonauts jumped out to an early lead in set one and never looked back throughout the match winning 25-19, 25-14, and 25-14 over the Lady Bulldogs.
Madi Cooler had a fantastic night once again tonight totaling 19 kills in the three sets to lead all players. Middle
Veresia Yon was also a dominant force offensively for West Florida finishing with 15 kills on a .609 hitting percentage.
Setter,
Taylor Vaneekeren had another match averaging well over ten assists per set finishing with 40 assists over the three sets. This setting efficiency led to 52 kills for the entire West Florida team on a solid .373 hitting percentage.
Defensively, West Florida racked up five total team blocks over the three sets and limited Union to a .096 hitting percentage on the night. Libero
Ashton Marshall once again led the team in digs tonight finishing with ten in the match in part of the team's 45 total digs.
Next up for the Argonauts is another home match this Tuesday when conference foe Montevallo comes to town for our final regular season home match of the season. First serve is set for 6 pm from the Field House so come out and cheer West Florida on for one final time this regular season.
