PENSACOLA, Fla. – For the third-consecutive game, UWF used strong post play to lead the way, this time in a 57-43 win over Spring Hill in the team's home-opener at the UWF Field House.
UWF (3-1) ran it's win streak to three as the Argonauts extended a 6-point halftime lead to double figures with an 11-4 third quarter. The defense held Spring Hill to just two field goals and seven turnovers in the period.
"In the first half we played defense like we were trying to handle every matchup with extreme intensity," UWF head coach
Stephanie Lawrence Yelton said. "After halftime we played off of non-shooters and helped on their big kids. When we played the personnel correctly, good things happened for us."

Jaclyn Jarnot were the strong performers inside for UWF. Both players recorded their third-consecutive game with a double-double as they combined for 25 points and 25 rebounds.
Maddie Griffon added 13 points, seven boards, two assists and three steals from her point guard spot.
UWF shot 40 percent, including 6-of-12 in the fourth quarter and controlled the boards with a 40-30 rebounding margin.
SHC (0-4) shot 38 percent and committed 21 turnovers, which the Argos scored 17 points off of. Tyashia Bostick and Ariel Thompson had 14 apiece for the Badgers.
UWF will be on the court next week when it welcomes William Carey (3-1) to Pensacola on Sunday evening. Tip-off at the UWF Field House is at 5 p.m.
