LIVINGSTON, Ala. – After watching the UWF Football team take down West Alabama earlier in the afternoon, the No. 7 ranked University of West Florida Volleyball team followed right in suit tonight sweeping the Tigers for their 25
th straight victory.
Now 30-1 on the season including a 15-0 mark in Gulf South Conference play, the Argonauts have now reached the 30 win milestone on the season which h marks just the fifth time in the programs 21 year history that the Argonauts have been able to achieve this feat.
In tonight's match, West Florida was in control from the opening whistle winning 25-14, 25-10, and 25-13 over the three sets for their 23
rd sweep of the season.
Madi Cooler led the team in kills tonight finishing will 11 kills for her fourth straight match with double-digit kills. Middle blocker
Veresia Yon also finished with double-digit kills in the match and also led the team in points picking up seven total blocks over the three sets.
Taylor Vaneekeren once again finished the match averaging over ten assists per set, as she finishes with 32 assists in the match.
As a team, the Argonauts hit .507 in tonight's match which is the third highest hitting percentage in program history. This now marks the fourth time this season in which this team has finished a match with a hitting percentage within the top ten in program history with tonight's match being the highest yet this season.
Next up for the Argonauts is their regular season finale next Saturday against Auburn Montgomery in Montgomery, Alabama. First serve will be at 1 pm (CST) from the AUM Athletics Complex with West Florida looking to finish the regular season unbeaten in conference play.
