Houston, TX- On Sunday the University of West Florida Argos defeated the St. Mary's Rattlers 3-1. The Argos are 2-0 to start the season.

Blair Cowan scored an unassisted goal at the 10 minute mark, taking the Argos up 2-0. Throughout the first half the Argos controlled much of the  game out shooting the Rattlers 5-2.  Brianna Pope scored the final go for the Argos in the 25th minute of play, after an assist from Julia Comin.

Defensively in the first half the UWF defense was unstoppable only allowing 2 shots in the entire half.  During the first half Destiny Hird and Chayse McGirt were both able to get shots off, just missing out left and out top. The team went into half time with a 3-0 lead.

The second half of the game started with both teams changing keepers. Charline Favier came into the game and was immediately tested with a penalty kick from St. Mary's Kylie Von Holle and ultimately got the save.
