2022 UWF SOFTBALL SCHEDULE

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The University of West Florida softball program announced its schedule for the 2022 campaign on Friday morning. Head coach Ashliegh McLean and the Argonauts will play a 50-game regular season, starting with South Region opponent Barry.

The Argonauts host the Bucs on Thursday, February 3 at the UWF Softball Complex to kick off their season, with a 5 pm start.

From there, UWF will make a trip to Gulf Shores, Alabama, for five games at the Gulf Shores Invitational from February 4-6, facing West Texas A&M, Columbus State, Union, Palm Beach Atlantic, and North Georgia. The Argonauts have a 17-7 record at the Gulf Shores Invitational since 2016.

In the final weekend before Gulf South Conference play kicks off, UWF will head to Melbourne, Florida, for matchups with St. Anselm, Florida Tech, Rollins, and Barry on February 12-13.

West Florida will be at home for the first two conference series of the year, hosting West Georiga on February 19-20 and Shorter on February 26-27, before visiting Christian Brothers (March 5-6) and West Alabama (March 11-12) the following weekends.

The Argonauts will then face Spring Hill (March 15) at home, Mississippi College (March 17) on the road, and Union (March 23) at home for a series of nonconference contests. Auburn Montgomery will then make the trip to Pensacola for a GSC series on March 25-26.

What follow is a week full of games on the road, as UWF heads to Columbus State (March 30), Montevallo (April 1-2), and Spring Hill (April 6).

The Argonauts will wrap up the final month of the regular season with Alabama Huntsville at home (April 9-10), Delta State on the road (April 15-16), Valdosta State at home (April 23-24), and Lee in Cleveland, Tennessee (April 30-May 1).

The Gulf South Conference Tournament will be hosted from May 5-8 at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Alabama, with the NCAA Tournament beginning on May 12. The National Championship will once again take place in Denver, Colorado, from May 26-30, hosted by Metro State – a familiar spot for Argonauts who reached the final site in 2019 when it was held in Denver.
