A Look Back
The reigning regular season champions (14-2-1 overall, 12-1 GSC) were crowned the title last Sunday evening after a 2-0 weekend against Delta State and the two-seed Mississippi College. Sophomore Ahnalie Layman and defender Destiny Hird recorded a goal each unassisted to defeat Delta State (Oct. 21) and won the battle 3-0 in a top-20 contest against Mississippi College Choctaws (Oct. 23). Layman and Hird's goals were both their second of the season with Hird scoring in back-to-back games.

The Argos held Delta State to two shots with one coming on target.

Blair Cowan recorded two goals against the Choctaws to climb as the conference leading scorer and tied for the second most goals in division II with a total of 18. After a scoreless 31 minutes, the Argos earned a free kick just outside the box that Cowan sank in that gave the team a lead to keep for the remainder of the match.

Julia Comin also had herself a game as she scored the go-ahead goal off a free kick that was headed into the top corner and continued to finish off the game with an assist to Cowan's second goal.

Cowan vs. Conference
Leading the GSC with 18 goals and tied for second most goals in division II, Cowan greatly surpasses her most recent single-season high of goals to enter tournament play.
