VALDOSTA, Ga. – The UWF women's basketball team suffered a 53-28 loss to No. 11 Eckerd in the season opener at The Complex on Saturday.
 
UWF made just eight field goals and was unable to slow down Eckerd (2-0), who shot 34 percent.
 
Jennifer Andrew led the Argonauts with eight points on 2-of-5 shooting with 4-of-4 from the free throw line. Claire Sutherland-Case and Haylee Luttrell had six points each.
 
Maya Price finished with 19 points to lead the Tritons, who held a 51-43 rebounding edge.
 
UWF will return to play on Thursday night when it plays host to Shorter (0-2) at the UWF Field House. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
