UWF remained in fourth place in the GSC standings with one week of regular-season play remaining. The Argos will close host West Georgia (9-13, 6-11) on Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m.

On Saturday, after falling behind 8-2, UWF rattled off seven-consecutive for its first lead. Lee tied it on a free throw before Newsom took over the final three minutes of the quarter, scoring six points with an assist as part of a 11-2 run.
The UWF lead fluctuated between 6-9 point for the majority of the second quarter. But Lee finished the half on a 6-0 run to grab a 36-34 lead.
The Lady Flames stretched their lead to eight on a Duncan jumper 2:40 into the third period. UWF worked it down to two later in the third and were within one at 57-56 with 7:00 remaining in the game.
But Lee answered with a Shubert three and a Halle Hughes fastbreak layup to make it a 6-point game. The Argos pulled within three in the final minute but were forced to foul in an attempt to extend the game. Lee made 7-of-8 from the line in the final 36 seconds to secure the win and split the home-and-home series with each team winning on the road.
Neither team shot the ball well from outside. Lee was a season-worst 2-for-21 and UWF was 5-for-18, just under their average of six triples per game.
