PENSACOLA, Fla.- The West Florida Men's Soccer played a hard-fought match against Rollins on Friday evening, but came up just short, losing the match 2-1.
The Tars improve to 2-0-1 on the season while the Argos fall to 1-2-0.
To start the first half, the Tars came out charging, putting up a few shots in the first 15 minutes. Goalkeeper
A.J. Evans rose to the challenge to keep the Tars out of the net. Evans tallied three saves in the game against the Tars.
The score remained tied at zero until Rollins forward Michael Landua was able to intercept a pass from Evans to the Argo defender. Landua took possession of the ball and hit inside the top right post while Evans was out of the box. The Tars were the first to get on the board with a 1-0 lead.
Three minutes later, the Argonauts were able to make a comeback to tie the score up at one. Defender
Fynn Geigle found
Jack Patching in the box and Patching scored to tie the score before heading into halftime. This was the first goal for Patching this season.
