LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The 12th-ranked UWF women's volleyball team got offensive production from nine different players as they defeated West Alabama, 3-0, at Pruitt Hall on Friday.
UWF (12-3, 4-0 Gulf South) hit .204 but held UWA (5-12, 0-5) to .018 and never let the Tigers hit above .050 in any set.
The Argos attack was led by sophomore
Avery Rodgers with a match-high 10 kills.
Jenna Zydlo,
Camila Vazquez and
Taylor Vaneekeren added six kills apiece. Vaneekeren recorded her seventh double-double on the season as she finished with 29 assists and 11 digs.
The Argos recorded their seventh straight-set victory of the season and improved to 3-1 on the road.
The Argos attack started off strong in the first set as they dispatched the Tigers 25-14 while UWF held a 13-7 lead from the start and never looked back taking set one 25-14.
Set two was a back-and-forth contest before a
Camila Vazquez kill at the 21-20 mark proved to turn the tide for the Argos as they went on to take set two 25-20.
The final set was much like set one, as the dominant attack continued for UWF, taking a 10-5 lead before closing out the match 25-11.
The Argos head remain on the road tomorrow with a trip to Clinton, Mississippi to take on Mississippi College (12-1, 3-1) inside A.E. Wood Coliseum at 1 p.m.
