MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Channick Nkoma had a career-high 17 points off the bench to lead the UWF men's basketball team on Monday at AUM. The Warhawks won the game 98-75 at the AUM Gymnasium.
UWF (7-7, 2-7 Gulf South) shot 42 percent as a team and had three players score in double figures. In addition to Nkoma,
LaTrell Tate had 16 and
Wendell Matthews had 10.
AUM (7-8, 5-6) shot 75 percent and was 22-of-27 in the second half. The Warhawks made 14-of-22 from outside and were led by Joseph Lanzi's 24 points with four 3-pointers.
AUM closed the first half on a 8-0 run to take a 41-37 lead into the locker rooms. After some back-and-forth action to start the second period, the Warhawks made 8-consecutive baskets with three triples to register a 24-10 run and grab a 77-59 advantage.
The Argos will play host to West Alabama on Thursday and Alabama Huntsville on Saturday at the UWF Field House. Thursday's contest will begin at 7:30 p.m.
