GULF BREEZE, Fla. --- The University of West Florida women's soccer team falls 2-1 to No. 17 Lee, in a home conference matchup, Sunday afternoon.

The loss is the first for the Argos this season and puts them to a 7-1-1 overall record, 4-1 GSC.

Mya Swinton scored the lone Argo goal and increased her total to seven goals. Swinton is tied with a Lee opponent as the conference's leading goal scorer.

The Flames (7-0-3 overall, 5-0-1 GSC) got on the board first in the 8
th minute to take a 1-0 lead. Lee saw an opportunity to attack as Alaysia Nye and Grace Berry had a number advantage in the box. Berry saw an open Nye in the middle of the goalie box for a tap into the net.

In the 21
st minute, Swinton scored the goal to level the game at one-all.

It was a constant back and forth battle but Lee was able to finalize with a second goal in the 71
st minute to regain the lead.

UWF was able to take one shot in the final 19 minutes but it could not fall through.

UWF outshot the Flames 16-7, but the Flames had a 5-4 edge on target.

Desitny Hird led the team with four shots, followed by Swinton with three who hit two on target.
