How It Happened

Goalkeeper Nicolas Meckien was pressured earlier in the match as the Bulldogs opened shots in the the second minute of the match. Kendrick Hernandez was quick to counter for the Argos as his shot soared over the net.

Scoring opened  in the 17th minute for the match as Furkan Artar drove the ball down the left flank of the field dribbling through the Bulldogs defense. Artar crossed in a low and driven ball just inside the six-yard box where Josiah Fontenot was there for the tap-in finish. Fontenot's goal would be his sixth of the season.

Fontenot's goal would not be the only scoring opportunity for the Argos in the first half. UWF tallied a total of 12 shots in the opening 45.

As both teams took the field for the second half, UWF was looking for more goals whilst the Bulldogs were looking for a tying goal. The Argos wishes came true in the 67th minute as Aidan Lausell took the ball down the left side of the field. The sophomore passed the Union defender with a getaway touch to his right foot. From there, it was a beauty. The Florida native's shot soared to the upper right corner of the net, giving the Argos a 2-0 lead and his fifth goal on the season.

Just two minutes later, with momentum on their side, the Argos found themselves in the attacking third. Finn Werner used his foot skills to get past the Bulldogs defense, and with a left foot cross on the ground across the goal, Josiah Fontenot was there once again to put the ball in the back of the net just two minutes later. Fontenot's second goal would seal the deal for the Argos as the final whistle blew at 90 minutes.
