Late Goal Crowns Argos As GSC Regular Season Champs on Senior Day

PENSACOLA, Fla. --- The University of West Florida women's soccer team won Sunday's home matchup over Alabama Huntsville, 1-0. The Argos were crowned as back-to-back regular season Gulf South Conference champions.

In the 85th minute, Charline Favier soared a goal off a free kick that was placed just outside the 18-yard box. The goal secured a UWF win and allowed the team to solely sit at the top of the conference standings. The goal was Favier's second of the season.

UWF outshot the Chargers, 16-2. The back line was unbeatable and held it down as goalkeeper, Maciah Lipsey, faced just one shot on goal.

Mya Swinton led the team with five shots followed by Manami Okada and Ahnalie Layman with three shots apiece.

Five seniors were recognized on Senior Day: Julia Comin, Bailey Erwig, Charline Favier, Mackenzie Montague and Manami Okada.
