Bostick's Big Day Powers UWF Past West Georgia, 69-67

The Argos outscored the Wolves 30-18 in the fourth quarter

PENSACOLA, Fla. – Tyashia Bostick scored 10 of her season-high 25 points in the fourth quarter as the UWF women's basketball team came from behind to defeat West Georgia, 69-67, at the UWF Field House on Sunday.
 
Bostick tied her season-high of five 3-pointers as she keyed a 30-18 rally to lift the Argonauts to their ninth-consecutive victory over the Wolves.
 
Brooke Kane added 16 points and Jaden Langford poured in nine and a game-high five assists.
 
UWF (7-2, 4-1 Gulf South) shot 42 percent overall and made 12-of-19 in the final period. The Argos connected on 6-of-12 from outside in the second half after just a 2-for-7 effort in the first 20 minutes.
 
The teams played to an even 18-18 first period. In the second quarter, UWF got a pair of layups to open play before West Georgia took a 25-22 lead with a 7-0 run. The Wolves took a 31-26 advantage into the locker room.
 
The Argos pulled to within 40-37 before Zuriyah Davis hit a three and a pull up jumper to stretch the Wolves lead to eight points. The visitors took a 49-39 lead into the fourth.
 
UWF came out as the aggressor in the final frame, pulling to within 58-56 by outscoring West Ga. 17-9 in the first portion of the stanza. The Wolves answered with a 6-0 run to widen the margin back to eight with 2:54 on the clock.
 
A Langford 3-point play and a Kane triple from the corner brought UWF back to within 64-62 with 2:10 to play. Bostick then hit her fifth 3-pointer before Kane stepped in front of a pass at the top of the key and took it coast-to-coast layup to put UWF ahead 67-65.
 
UWG (4-4, 1-4) dropped its fourth-straight game after a 4-0 start. Davis had 28 points to lead all scorers and K'Nari Holliday collected a double-double with 12 and 15 rebounds.
 
The game saw the top two rebounding teams in the GSC go head-to-head. UWG held a 44-43 edge on the glass.
 
The Argos will hit the road next weekend, playing at No. 4 Union (9-0, 4-0) on Friday evening and Christian Brothers on Sunday afternoon.
