UWF Kicks Off NSISC Championships with 800 Free Relay Win

This is the first time since 2016 the Argos have won this event

CLEVELAND, Miss.- The No. 6 West Florida Swimming and Diving team made quite a splash on the first day of competition at the New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference Championship (NSISC) on Tuesday evening. The Argonauts placed in first in the 800 free relay and dropped thirteen seconds off their time to claim the victory.

Freshman Shannah Dillman swam the first leg, followed by Nina Imboden, Sofia Kendzior, and Kathryn Mipro who brought it home for the Argos. The group finished with a time of 7:31.04. This is the first 800 free relay win since 2016 and marks the second time in school history.

The Argonauts are just getting started with four days left of competition at the Ronald G. Mayers Aquatics Center.

Up Next: Wednesday will feature the 200 IM, 50 free, 1000 free, 1-meter diving, and 200 medley relay.
