JACKSON, Tenn. --- After multiple postponements, the University of West Florida pushes through weather adversity and opens regular season conference with a 16-0 win over the Union Bulldogs.

UWF (8-2 overall, 1-0 GSC) made their way home in each inning to consistently increase the score throughout seven innings played. Seven Argonauts had a hit or more and
Trent Jeffcoat and
Jadon Fryman led with three hits each.

Dalton Neuschwander earned a win after a six-strikeout game in 5.0 IP and improves to 3-0 on the season. In 21 batters faced, he allowed only two hits.

Jeffcoat had the first hit of the game that was a double and was immediately sent home by a Fryman single who later totaled for three RBIs. With two outs on the board,
Mark Townsend hit a SAC FLY to send Fryman home. Fryman, along with
Jackson Grabsky who went 2-for-5, tallied three runs apiece.

To open the second inning, outfielder
Jacob Bailey reached on an error, advanced to second by
Dean Hotz on a sacrifice bunt, and scored unearned by a Grabsky double. Grabsky ran the bases and made it home after a double by Fryman.

Hotz earned an RBI in the third inning that allowed
Mike Scordo, who reached base on a hit, to give the Argos a 5-0 lead. Bailey was walked and earned the sixth run of the game in just the third inning thanks to Jeffcoat.

The fourth inning was the Argos least scored frame with just one run that was earned by first baseman,
Darrien McDowell. McDowell followed up with his fourth homerun of the season in the following inning. UWF tallied four hits and three runs in the fourth inning alone.

The Argos did not let up and managed to score five more runs in the final two innings.

Pitcher
Chase Wilkerson stepped onto the mound in the sixth and finished with four strikeouts in 2.0 IP and was awarded his first save.

Carson Chavies led the Bulldogs (5-7 overall, 1-3 GSC) with two hits.

The Argos will finish out the series against the Bulldogs, Saturday, at Fesmire Baseball Park at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
